Grammar Grammar Grammar

Grammar has never been one of my strong points.  If you told me at any point in my life that I would one day be making my living by writing I would have laughed at you.   It’s really hard to master something that you can’t see or touch smell or taste.   I have the same problem with Math, the silly little symbols like commas and periods.

There is an age thing as well. My generation who learned to type on mechanical typewriters were taught to leave two spaces between sentences. My daughter goes what the heck are you doing dumb dad its only one space.
When I was attending university I came to the realization very quickly that in english writing I would never get a mark higher than a 70%. My content generally received a mark of 100% and my writing brought my mark down to a 70%.
I read by word shape not by recognizing individual letters.    Reading hand writing is almost impossible. Especially my own. When I express ideas I like to be able to draw a picture. If I can create a picture then I know I understand the problem.
I accommodate sighted people all the time. I pretend I can see or I take notes to demonstrate interest. Or I look at them when they are talking. Showing attention is a big one otherwise sighted people get upset and think your ignoring them or worse not listening. I’ve actually worked for managers who have been very upset over this.
I have been told to write like I talk so I do.   Problem is it doesn’t always translate well to text.  This blog is a good thing I generally work each entry at least three times before publishing. However my friends who actually read this stuff have commented on my grammar.
Anyway any grammatical feedback you have on my writing is more than welcome.    If you can help me master grammar I will paint your house and wash your car.
