Audiance

I’ve always been told that I’ve got a great set of pipes. Voice. I’ve always been told I should be in radio. When I was born the nurse even told my mom that I had / have a voice like a fog horn. I’ve been messing around with a career transition and talking to some voice over teaching resources. I had one voice over school recently say send us something well tell you what we think. I was hoping for a training plan a great pipes baby. What I got was you sound like Captain Kirk and the bird. I don’t think I’m that hopeless so hopefully they were having a bad day or something.

Some of the feedback I get from voice acting people is who is your audience? I listen to my podcasts when I’m editing them. I make a ton of mistakes. I wonder sometimes as well who my audience is. Mostly its not really a mystery to me at all. I worry about my audience because I don’t want to sound like I’m on a soapbox or a pulpit. I don’t want to sound like I’m telling. I want to sound like I’m sharing.
Who is my audience?
Yesterday I was talking with a friend of mine. We were talking about my vision and he commented that we all have a cross to bare. I totally agree. This friend is very cool he’s a very kind hearted man. He’s even tempered and balanced, a state I strive for. He is also surviver of cancer.
My audience are all of those people who’s family like mine wont’ talk about their disability. Its the people handicapped by the silence the be family shame. My hope is that you find your way out of the shame and the silence. To live and rejoice in who and what you are. No matter how you came from the factory.
My audience is also anyone, all of us, who have a cross to bare. Something that gets us down something that hurts us or tires us out. Something that energy has to be expended on to manage and get through the day.
My audience is you.
May I inspire you as much as you inspire me.
