You Can’t Do ThaT II
I get this often. You’re not supposed to do that. Here let me do that for you. It’s amazing to me other people’s conception of your abilities. I love blindness as a metaphor because blindness is used to describe so many “can’t do” things it’s amazing. People often comment. Oh My God that would be the worst thing that could ever happen to me is to go blind.
I often think the worst thing that could happen to me is to be sighted. I like to ponder what I would have been like if I could have seen. I wouldn’t have been a cowboy and I certainly wouldn’t be typing out this blind blog. I’d like have followed in the footsteps of my family and worked in the Oil Industry. A Roughneck, with a big dually truck and a cowboy hat and chewing tobacco driving all around drinking beer and checking on oil drilling rigs. Sorry got carried away. My family isn’t like that at all but it’s fun to imagine. I would have had a big truck though.
The only things I’ve not been able to do so far yet. Is legally drive, which I’m not sure if I could I would and finish my degree. I think I will finish my degree l when I’m retired. I’ll go back to school full time and be a student.
My high school counsellor motivated me heavily by saying I’d never be able to get to university in the first place and should learn a trade. At least he didn’t say I should become a piano tuner or masseuse. I do massages for free for the right people…
