When I am out and about I love to go with someone as it provides an enhanced experience for me.
Don’t get confused I’m fully capable of going out and enjoying the world on my own.  The things I experience through my senses are generally different than a visual person would experience.    When I come back from a run for instance, I can tell you about the sound of a stand of trees or the smell of some flowers or the sounds of the salmon.
When I go and experience the world with a sighted person.   Not only do I get the experience my senses provide but I also get the benefit of the experiences the sighted person is willing to share.   Generally the locale of the outing is somewhere I can’t get to on my own, again logistics.
I ultimately like to think I share my unique perspective with who I’m with as well.   Hopefully I enhance their experience of the world.
