An Open Letter to My Children

I love both of you very much.   I am proud of both of you.   Your stubbornness and tenacity and your ability to make a decision and live it is something to be proud of.

I understand that the changes I made in my life were huge.   I knew that to be fair to you I needed to allow you to have the opportunity to make a decision on where you wanted to be and how you wanted to live your life.   Are there things we disagree on?   Absolutely!!!   I don’t hold that against you.   You are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine.    .
I am happy and content in my new life and being openly disabled.   I can’ live with people being disappointed in my and not supporting how I life or what I do to live.   I am different.
I hope that in your life you find a place that you can openly live how you want to and live in a place that feeds you as a person.    I am totally supportive of that.
Please don’t live for others or get trapped by others who use you to feel better about themselves because you feel badly about yourself.     Please don’t get trapped in trying to be something your not because others might be disappointed.    Please don’t let others manipulate you because they judge you as unacceptable.    Please don’t get trapped by others treating you badly because they are punishing you.
Live your life be free.     Its only taken me what 43 years to get my head out of my bottom.   I pray that it doesn’t take you as long.
I love you both.
