LRT

In Calgary they have a light rail transit system dubbed the “LRT”, growing up here I’ve seen the LRT system from its genesis to its current and planned state. Its not a bad system gets you around about fairly effectively.

My days when I’m on my own working or shopping or doing whatever require public transit. Using public transit is a different dimension. You have to plan for a wider range of weather possibilities. So you are the last one to lose your winter jacket or the first one to start wearing your winter jacket. Then you are more likely to have to reach for scarves and mittens and toques. In the summer a shell or an umbrella are not bad things to carry around.
In a car you only have to get from the door to the car. Your not likely to have to wait ten to fifteen minutes for a bus or worse thirty to sixty minutes. Or wait for something that never comes and its a call to the cab company or someone to give you a ride home.
You have to carry everything you need for the day so you get to be an effective ass, sorry couldn’t help myself. It is a pain though having to anticipate everything you’ll need if your working playing or whatever.
In a car you can pack around a wide array of stuff. You don’t have to plan as much and you don’t have to carry everything to every appointment.
Its a rare no its absolutely never has anyone I’ve been in a serious relationship with ridden the public transit with me. Well that time is over. My wife rode the LRT with me on the weekend to check out the sites and shop. We did it all together and we did it how I would have to do it. I’ve never had the opportunity to share this experience before. My kids and I have done things on the bus but none of my partners have ever walked a mile in my shoes.
We parked the car rode the train had lunch did some walking shopped and went home. It was glorious. I loved it and we both had a great time. Having someone willing to share my experience and my life is amazing. I cant even tell you!!! Its absolutely amazing.
