What Is Beauty

I went to dictionary.com and found the following.    All of the denotative definitions for beauty always included a beautiful woman.

What Is Beauty Podcast
beau·ty       /ˈbyu ti/ Pronunciation Key – Show Spelled Pronunciation[byoo-tee]Pronunciation Key – Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural -ties.
1.      the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).
2.      a beautiful person, esp. a woman.
The interesting thing is that this definition does not specifically call out vision, but a sensory manifestation of the mind.
Over the weekend I had two ladies tell me that the only concern they had with my vision and a potential relationship with me was I wouldn’t be able to tell how beautiful they are.  This was a perspective I had never considered before.  I find it interesting that the connotations for beauty imply a bias towards the visual sense and isn’t as focused on the mind.    Please do not interpret that I think either of these ladies shallow hardly.  In fact both people have my utmost respect.
I offer to you my definition of beauty.  My definition is more of a paraphrase of the Dictonary.com definition.
“A quality perceived though senses or thought or felling that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind.”
Ladies I can honestly tell you that if I express to you that you are beautiful.   You have very much impacted me at an emotional and intellectual level way beyond any individual sense.    When I say I experience the world through all of my sense you have either impacted me profoundly on an individual dimension.   Or you have impacted me on multiple dimensions, for instance: thought, feeling, smell, touch, taste, auditory, or vision.    Vision if I’ve gotten close enough.
